Drug Abuse Prevention
EVS produced a visually striking drug abuse prevention message designed for Latino youth in collaboration with the U.S. Office of Minority Health and the National Council of La Raza. The 30-second spot was broadcast repeatedly on the Univision and Telefutura television networks, and was developed with the help of twelve focus groups conducted with Latino teens.
In partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Council of La Raza, EVS produced the nation’s first Spanish-language television public education campaign on the problem of lead poisoning in the home. The effort included the production of two national television Public Service Announcements, and a poster that was distributed by La Raza to hundreds of community-based organizationa across the country. Both television spots were broadcast hundreds of times on the Univision and Telemundo networks, providing millions of Latino families with critical information about the causes and consequences of this dangerous environmental hazard.
EVS produced a powerful message on domestic violence for the grass roots Latino legal organization, Ayuda. The spot focused on information about the options offered by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and encouraged viewers to call a national hotline to connect with local resources and counseling.
